FAQs
Frequently Asked Questions
Why are you called Radical Self Love Bodywork?
Radical means to cut directly to the root of something, and I believe self-love addresses the root of suffering. This practice welcomes all people and all body types and refuses to discriminate. As an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I hold this as a space that affirms healing — remembering the Buddha's teaching that “Hatred does not cease by hatred, but only by love.”
Where is the massage located?
Sessions take place in a private home studio in East Liberty. You'll find the address and directions on the Locations page.
How early should I arrive?
Please arrive 5–10 minutes early. New clients receive a brief intake to discuss their goals for massage; returning clients use this time to talk through any health changes or adjustments.
What is your cancellation policy?
A credit card holds your booking. No-shows and cancellations within 24 hours will be charged the full session price. Changes can be made any time up to 24 hours before your appointment.
Do you accept insurance?
I don't accept insurance, but HSA and FSA accounts are welcome.
How often should I get a massage?
It depends on your goals: every 3–4 weeks for a specific issue, monthly for maintenance, or whenever you like for relaxation.
What length of massage should I schedule?
A 60-minute session addresses 1–2 problem areas. A 90-minute session allows for thorough full-body work or in-depth targeted work.
Do I have to fully undress for my session?
Professional draping keeps unexposed areas covered at all times. Undressing fully is optional, though it can help treatment for certain problem areas.
Should I speak or stay silent during my session?
Sessions ask for your presence and focus. I'll check in about pressure, but I encourage silence to help you stay connected to your body's awareness.
